Despite being slightly late to the party, I’ve recently started playing Minecraft and found it to be a fun creative sandbox game that can be played alone or with others. You’re a blocky pixel person set loose on a blocky pixel landscape to dig out minerals and construct increasingly elaborate edifices.
Because I am a giant nerd, I thought it’d be fun to make a custom skin for my avatar. Here it is:

…and every time you see your custom block hand pawing at a stone cube when your pick breaks, or see the kobold in your inventory screen, that little voice will say “maybe I should be working on the comic instead of playing Minecraft for another six hours”.
Or at least that was my thinking when I made a quick skin of the main character from my comic…

I have had to impose a very strict No Minecraft Before 5pm rule on myself, because the game has the potential to be a time-vampire of horrific proportions. The block-sun rising over a gleaming block-citadel of lofty block-spires might be a magnificent sight, but I think people would probably prefer to see the next page of the comic. So, discipline. 😀
