Sketchbook: Fort on the River.

dpc_town_sketch1

Here’s a locale that’ll be showing up later – a fortified outpost on an island in the middle of a river, connected to the banks by two bridges and with a small walled town huddled in its shadow. As yet unnamed, however, since names are the hardest part of anything.

Current ideas:

Castle Crossing
Two Bridges
Ilcaster
Ilfort
Bridgefort
Fordhold
Fortford
Ilfordholdbridgefortcastle

Yeah, like I say. As yet unnamed.

  1. Lol says:

Y’know, from the side the castle looks a bit like a mounted knight. (mainly from the smaller sketch.)

I am reminded of M.C.Escher. Not the wierd stuff, things like Castrovalva or Tower of Babel.

    I like Escher. :-)

I’d go for “X’s Crossing”, where X is the name of some ancient hero of yore that founded the place, built the castle etc.
