Yes indeedy, this Saturday is Free RPG Day, when you can head down to your FLGS and try out a new roleplaying game or two, with quickstart modules and material available for a range of titles for free, that’s eff-arr-ee-ee as in FREE, as in you pay nothing. Pretty awesome.
It so happens that my FLGS, Eclectic Games, are combining Free RPG Day with their Grand Reopening at the new premises (map here). I’ll be there doing character sketches (an example of which can be seen as this week’s interlude content), so if you’re in the area then please do stop by – it’s a short walk from the train station, and they have an unbelievably huge selection of board games, card games, roleplaying games and traditional games.
In comic-related news, I’m pretty much done with the illustration gig and the conclusion to The Silver Chain should resume next Wednesday. Thank you again for your patience. 
As occasionally happens, a bunch of calendar stuff collided earlier on this week and left me pretty much devoid of time to work on page 11. It’s in progress now, but unfortunately not in time to meet the update schedule.

While the Wacom tablet is my friend, I really should bust out the traditional media more often. Usually I stick with my trusty Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens, but inking with brush and nib is something I’ve neglected. You might see more of these ink sketches in future.
In case anyone hadn’t noticed, I’m kind of a nerd. Part of this nerdery involves liking Dungeons & Dragons, particularly the weird and wonderful array of monsters. This in mind, here’s a digital sketch featuring a couple of my favourites – a Kobold riding a Rust Monster.
Here’s a locale that’ll be showing up later – a fortified outpost on an island in the middle of a river, connected to the banks by two bridges and with a small walled town huddled in its shadow. As yet unnamed, however, since names are the hardest part of anything.
