It’s how Adar thinks – he’s pretty, uh, independent. And stubborn with it.
And here I thought he’d be merciful and release the poor gnoll. But perhaps the price is worth paying if it gives them a chance to escape. Because it doesn’t look like the gnoll feels that defiance is worth the pain.
The problem is that the gnoll has been fighting in the arena long enough to have a much better idea of the rewards that defiance brings. Adar’s just starting to learn for himself.
