The alternative was <i>Strength</i>, and I don't know that I could have got the imagery to work as well. The "immobilised by fears" aspect of the 8 of Swords is very appropriate for Evan. If time permits I'll probably have a go at some other tarot-inspired images in the future, as each card has its layers of meaning and imagery which provide a useful foundation on which I can build, bringing my own interpretation. I'll need to find some cards that suit the characters, though. Research required! I'm quite struck by this piece. The moodiness and style of this card is really effective and powerful. I believe it conveys the meaning of the 8 of swords card quite well. I like how you took the traditional imagery of the card and made it your own.
